  • PLACES IN BETWEEN
Downtown Milwaukee, WI is characterized by many vacant lots and unbuilt land. Some feel that the holes in the street grid make for an undesirable urban landscape and are hoping to fill in the gaps. This project sees these Places In Between as a valuable amenity to the city and attempts to leverage their potential to revitalize downtown Milwaukee.

  • SKINBOAT SCHOOL
A learning and building center for skinboats and skin-on kayaks, the Skinboat School is lodged into a hillside off of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI. Large movable windows extend the workshop out onto the dock where students can finally paddle off into the water.

  • SITE: HOW THE PILOT SEES
My Masters Thesis Work: This project takes the position that our current architectural conventions of site analysis are too detached and too quantitative to fuel our qualitative design processes. I believe we are "seeing" our site with biased eyes - only architectural eyes. In attempt to see the site in greater resolution, I look through the eyes of three other professions: The Radiologist, The Pilot, and The Fly Fisherman. By seeing the site through their eyes, I am able to start seeing qualities of the site unseen before. Qualities that can then leverage the design process.
